Natalie
passed away from natural causes at the age of 91 in Reno, NV.
Natalie
was born on November 26, 1929 to Dusan and Mildred Vukmirovich in
Gebo, WY. The family then moved to Butte, MT where she spent her
childhood. After that the whole family moved to Oakland, CA where
Natalie graduated from Fremont High School.
She went to work for the Oakland Tribune, where she met Lloyd (Ted) Conkel and they married soon after. They spent time in Berkeley and Oakland then settled in San Lorenzo to raise their 4 children.
Natalie was an
executive secretary for Mervyn's until she retired. Upon retiring she
volunteered at Del Rey School, the San Lorenzo Library and Meeks
Estate.
She was very involved in the St. George Serbian Orthodox
Church, local Theatre, travel and her Tap Dancing!
She is
pre-deceased by her loving husband Ted of 57 years, her son Mark
Conkel and her daughter, Janine Henry.
She is survived by her
siblings Anita Fawcett, Milosh Vukmirovich and Joann Radke, her
daughter Nanette Conkel (John), her son David Conkel, son-in-law Tom
Henry and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
A service will be held at at later date.
