Bari E. Brenner passed away in Seattle, WA, on November 20, 2017. She had a heart transplant one year earlier. Bari was born to Sam and Annette Brenner on February 4, 1947, in Seattle. The family then moved to Oakland, CA. In 1970, Bari graduated from Cal State University Hayward with a degree in Journalism. She moved to Castro Valley and became a reporter and editor for 11 years at the Daily Review, Hayward, and at The Argus, Fremont. At The Oakland Tribune she was a fashion editor, travel editor, and "Travel Tipster" columnist for 30+ years. In addition to traveling, Bari loved shopping--Nordstrom shoes, warm sweaters, and non-fiction books! Bari was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Annette Brenner of Oakland, CA. She is survived by her brother Daryl Brenner of Redmond, WA, her sister Marilyn Brenner Poleschuk (Ilya) of Issaquah, WA, and her sister Arlene Brenner, of San Jose, CA. She was the aunt of Michelle Kulp (Bryan) and Steven Poleschuk. Donations in Bari's memory may be sent to the University of Washington Medical Center in support of the Heart Transplant unit.
