Ruth Gilkey, a newspaper columnist and editor, died Jan. 13 in Walnut Creek. She was 94.
The
native of Denver moved to Walnut Creek 16 years ago from Montclair. She
worked for the San Fernando Valley Times for 13 years, then for the Oakland Tribune for 12 years.
She
is survived by her sons, Hugh Argabrite of Sunnyvale and Alan Argabrite
of Honolulu; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
