Ferreria, Glenn "Butch"

 Jan 6, 1942 – Jan 27, 2016
Butch was born in  Alameda, California on January 6, 1942 and he died on January 27, 2016 at Patterson CA. He was 74.  Butch went to work at the Oakland Tribune in 1966 and was assigned too many duties over the years in the Circulation Department until his retirement when the Tribune closed in about 1992. He then went onto worked at the Pleasanton Park and Recreation dept. in Pleasanton CA where he was later joined by his good friend Jim Burnham also an ex-Tribune employee. Butch is survived by his wife Kathy and four daughters, Mary, Cindy, Julie and Margery, and many Grandchildren.. Butch was a good guy that I found to have much in common as we were both old Alameda Boys. We both attended Alameda High School where Butch graduated in 1959 shown in pictured above.
Last time I visited with Butch was just prior to going to a Go-Getters reunion luncheon with him and the Burnham’s that was held at the Eagles Hall in Alameda. I remember that we tried to outdo each other on knowing the landmarks, old haunts and where old childhood friends lived in Alameda. I didn’t stand a chance as he seemed to know every nook and cranny on that Bay Area Island not to mention everybody who ever lived there! We wish our sincere condolences to all his family and friends. There will be no services
