Carlquist, Jean P.

1923 – July 30, 2016
Jean P (Pacini) Carlquist was born in 1923 in Carson City NV, to  Bartolomeo and Gemma Pacini – Jean passed away on July 30, 2016 at her home in San Leandro CA. She was attended around the clock for many months by a team of caregivers who truly loved her.  She was 93.

Jean worked in Circulation 40 years. She began her tenure in Street Sales when she was in her late teens or early twenties. When I started at the Tribune in '68 she did the daily circulation figures, and dealt with Auditors, etc.  My desk was close to hers, and I remember her talking to her mother in Italian and also some good stories about her RV camping trips to National Parks all over the States.  She had a great sense of humor, and we all liked her.

Her husband Robert G. Carlquist of more than 50 years died in 2012 and Jeanie missed him desperately.  When we visited we talked about him, the Tribune, Football and Golf.

I miss her. Eda Dotzek
