U. Meyer Sr. Resident of Sonora, Formerly of Alameda/San Leandro. John
was Born in Oakland, CA to John and Amalie. Our loving father past on
Feb. 6, 2011 at the age of 86, surrounded by his family. John was
preceded in death by his brother Joseph. He is survived by his wife of
41 years, Nancy and former wife Lorraine Evans, 8 sons, John Jr.
(Linda), Gregory (Angel), Michael (Blair), Don (Maryann), Jim, Danny
(Denise), Rick, Patrick, and daughter Penny (Chuck), 25 grandchildren
and 21 great grandchildren, along with many close friends. He retired
after 38 years of employment with the Oakland Tribune,
Circulation Dept., and a Member of the Teamster Union, Local 70. He
loved 49er Football and had an enduring love for fishing and boats. He
loved gardening, time with the family including his quiet time by the
"Creek.
